"What's wrong with me? Why did I snap at him?" I asked myself over and over again as I stumbled through the forest, looking for Spartan. This gave me a strong sense of Deja Vu. "Spartan! Spartan, where are you?!" I yelled for him. As I sumbled past the last set of trees into a clearing, I saw somthing that made my stomach twirl.
Spartan. But he wasn't alone. The blasted vampire who changed me was with him. He looked foccused, and his hand was infront of Spartan's face. My breath caught as I stared in horror.
"Spartan! Spartan get away! Run!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. It was too late. The poison was starting to take effect inside of me, and the man now had him under his spell.
The man told Spartan somthing, and he nodded. Spartan turned to face me, with a blank experssion on his face. I tried to stay standing, but it was too hard. The poison insie my body was too strong, yet I still held onto the strength I had left.
"This has all been a trap. You kept me from feeding by sending the vampires, then you faked an explosion to lure us to that alley way! You placed that poisoned man there, knowing I'd feed! You knew I'd take a couple hours, so you could brainwash him! You're dispeicable!" I screamed at the vampire.
Spartan didn't stop walking over to me. He grabbed my shoulders and picked me up with a force that hurt as his hands dug deeper into my skin. I stared into his eyes, knowing I couldn't fight back. He was so much stronger than me, and always has been.
I could only let him toss me around like a rag doll as tears escaped my eyes. The poison was too strong, I was too weak. Spartan was too convinced that I was the enemy, that I had no options but to run away.
I remainded where I was, as I hit the ground again. I screamed because the stake in my boot slid and stabbed my leg. I ripped it out and threw it across the field. I gripped my leg as Spartan grew closer and closer.
My face was already soaked wit tears, and my muslces were already too bruised and weak. I just starred up at him as he reached for me again.
I heard a crack as I hit the ground for the third time. I screamed as more tears escaped my eyes. I had to convine him who he was. "Please! This isn't you! Please remember!" I tried and willed with everything I had, but he didn't listen.
The blasted vampire did too well of a job. "I don't listen to dirty, weak half-bloods like you. There is only the humans, and the pure bloods. We will rule the eternity world after you are dead." He growled through his teeth. How could this happen? Oh yeah, I told him to disapear, now he has.
"No! This isn't right, and you know it! You know who you are. You're Spartan, the werewolf. You love the world, and protect the innocent from peoplelike him!" I jabed a finger towards the vampire. "You know we can't survive without eachother watching our backs." I tried to reach for him, but his arm grabbed my hand and yanked it behind me back and snapped it.
I screamed again, but it only caused him joy. My memories of the past started to swarm all around me. My life...passing before my eyes..I'm dying. He's too strong, too important. I can't hurt him. I watched as the pictures in my head started to swarm into one.
Spartan. Nothing else in the world mattered anymore but him. My mind started to reveal what I've known since the first time I've ever touched his skin. When I tried to drive the dagger into his heart that day on the mountains. It was too obvious. Why didn't I see it before?
It was sweeping over me as I tried to stand up, without even noticing his grip tighten, and more bones cracking. It couldn't be helped. I had one shot, one last chance. I tilted my head up towards him and without even thinking, I took my last chance to save us both.
His eyes snapped back and forth as his grip loosened. This is it, I thought as I tightened my lips against his. I squeezed my eyes shut and willed with all my heart for him to remember everything.
This was the last hope either of us had, and I finally let go. I leaned back and tried to open my eyes. His face got a pained expression as he started to struggle. I finally collasped into a heap on the ground and watched as his hands flashed to his head.
The man walked over to him and grabbed his shoulder. Spartan's head snapped up as his mind set. He reached for the man by the throat and lifted him off the ground. Using his other free hand, he grabbed my stake and drove it through the man's chest.
The man screamed and struggled, but Spartan didn't let go. The man went limp and Spartan dropped him. I was just about to slip when he turned around and saw me. His pain and agony shone through on his face as I smiled a sweet and sad smile and drifted into his arms.
I remember his voice in my head. "Lara? Lara it's okay. I remember and see everything the way you see it. I see it all through your eyes and relize it too. Lara it's okay." I smiled again as his lips touched my forheaI opened my eyes and felt the pain. I looked up at him and smiled, despite the numb feeling spreading through my body.
Finally, after the pain and suffering, after all the struggle, it was all finally clear. The man was the last vampire, and he was dead. Everything was over, and we were safe. I felt his arms wrap around me as I leaned into his shoulder. He supported me for what seemed like an eternity, and we both sat there, holding on. Our jobs were done, and we were where we belonged.
